Implicit-bias awareness training for law enforcement agencies, companies, and organizations
The practice of fair and impartial policing is built on understanding and acknowledging human biases, both explicit and implicit.
Since the Trayvon Martin shooting in 2012, the issue of bias has plunged to the foreground of many lives, industries, and professions. The issue of bias is commonly referred to as implicit bias or explicit bias. While all humans have biases, the focus on people who can benefit from training on the topic has been largely directed toward those within law enforcement. Since then, COVID-19 has quickly magnified the problem and made the issue of bias more complex as scientific studies show that racism and COVD-19 represent a pandemic on a pandemic for Black people.

What is Bias Training & Why Do We Do It?
- JUS believes that if harmful biases can be identified, they can be mitigated.
- JUS does both; we educate to bring the biases to the surface and where needed we educate to mitigate.
Who Is the Bias Training For?
Our bias training courses are constructed for:
- General Public: People or organizations interested in learning more about the origins of bias.
- Law Enforcement Officers: With over five years of experience in speaking to law enforcement, JUS implements courses aimed at bringing the Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) to a space where the reckoning of bias is out on the table where it can be owned and mitigated.
- Healthcare Professionals and Paraprofessionals: People with careers in these fields care for others and bias can contribute to health care error.

This is an excellent course with many eye-opening topics well presented. I hope I can improve my personal engagement with all people, especially those who have been marginalized, because of what I have learned. I don't want the class to end. I thoroughly enjoy it. Dianne has done an excellent job of putting the presentations together. I am saddened and appalled at many of the things I have learned. I hope I can change perceptions and understanding among those in my sphere of influence.
I have some experience in this area, but gained a broader perspective and learned new things from this course. Thank you.
How Our Bias Training Is Different
We focus on teaching individuals about biases so that these biases may be brought to the conscious. Once biases are brought to the conscious, they can be sorted and managed for more positive and sustained outcomes. Learn more about each course curriculum below.
